The salesman sold me the Monster Protector, $$$, for my LCD TV. I checked on Amazon, bought the Tripp Lite. I am very pleased and returned the over-priced Monster Although it is unlikely that any surge protector will prevent a direct hit, this looks like a quality surge protector, with guarantees if your equipment is damaged.
