I have read many books and this one was by far one I will read again and again. I work with the elderly so i had a attachment to Jacob right away. You do feel a certain pitty for the animals and people in this book. I won’t ruin the end but you will never find another book as heart felt and all inspiring as this one.

This just verifies what hundreds and thousands have already said. There is no difference in the quality between what these cables deliver and what the fantastically expensive cables that the big box stores want to sell you deliver.

This is a DIGITAL signal, not analog. That means that if the information is delivered, the information is delivered. In an analog cable, there are quality and environmental issues that can interfere with the signal, so the stronger and more clear the signal, the better.

With a digital signal, that is not a factor. There is nothing magic about delivering digital information. So save the money already and save literally a few hundred dollars on the various HDMI cables you’ll need to hook up your cable/satillite box, your blu ray player, and whatever other new fangled AV components you’ve found lately as new toys.

My POV, born and raised yankee transplanted to deep south. I read the book quickly, as I found there was a flow to the writing. I did miss some character development. I wanted to know more about Skeeter’s mother and her brother Carlton. We read that her father seemed to be conflicted. Though he hired about 25 African Americans to work his cotton fields, in his conversation with the Senator he seemed to be pulled in different directions. I wondered about Skeeter’s brother. He seemed kind of extraneous – just there to make sure Skeeter was not an only child with those dynamics. Stuart was a disappointment.

As for dialect, I think this has been mentioned in other reviews and I agree – that the Help has a “quirky” type of speech, yet no one else does. I did not hear (read) one y’all – not even from the “white trash” Miss Celia from Sugar Ditch. I think had this style been more even handed this would have helped the book.

Also, this is fiction, based on a period in time of this country. And it is based on the author’s point of view – with her memories influencing her writing. So, with that in mind, is there a right or wrong way to write this?

I was disappointed, but not surprised with the ending. I would say for those that have not read this yet, it’s not the worst book you will ever read, nor will it be the best ever. And though the dialect of the Help may be offensive to those closely tied with this type of life/situation/family history, the bigger picture is that someone who does not know anything about the day to day living might get an idea of what life was like for some of The Help in the form of an easy read fiction novel. It’s not War and Peace.

I had a beautiful contemporary scale that would give me a different reading every time I stepped on it. The EatSmart scale is good looking (although I’d still prefer a bit more glass and less metal) but it is very accurate and consistent, which is really the basic purpose for having a scale. I am pleased with it. The only problem I experienced was with the 4 AA batteries that came with the scale. They failed to work. The company offered to reimburse me for buying new ones which was a nice gesture on their part, even though I didn’t take them up on it. The new batteries were only a couple of dollars and the scale works well. I highly recommend it.

I bought this to use in a GoPro Helmet Hero HD video camera. At 720p and 60fps settings, the card won’t keep up with the camera even though some Class 4 cards I’ve used will. A friend told me about this pedometer when I mentioned to her that the one I had kept getting the buttons pushed by accident and clearing out all my steps. That’s sure not a problem with this one! Not only does it NOT accidently erase the steps, it keeps track of several days of walking…and it turns over to a new day and starts over all by itself. You don’t have to wear in inconveniently on your waistband either. You can carry it in your pocket and it attaches securely so that it won’t fall out or get lost. It’s weird to be this excited about a pedometer, but I have had mine for a couple of months now and I absolutely LOVE it! Well worth every penny!
