The first set of “generic” ink cartriges worked perfectly, so I ordered a second set. Although I ordered from the same seller the packaging and the cartridges were different.
I opened the PGI-5BK and black ink dripped out. I assummed I had squeezed it inadvertently, dried it off and installed it in the printer. I printed a test page which was so faded it was illegible, so I removed the cartridge and found that it was once again covered with ink and obviously unusable.
I hoped it was just one bad cartridge and since my magenta was almost out, I carefully opened the C-CLI 8M. Ink poured out (lucky I covered my desk first!) In the end, I decided to spend $70.00 for Staples remanufactured ink cartridges.
Obviously the “generic” cartridges are not reliable.
5 Pack Canon BCI

Why aren’t more printers like this one? There weren’t many choices in this size/functionality category, but I’m glad I chose the ip100. It sits in my open glass shelved home theater rack and has just enough room to fit standard paper in the tray. When it’s closed, it’s inconspicuous. I used the included 6″x4″ photo paper, and the photos turned out well. I couldn’t find any banding or discoloration. I see nothing bad about text printing, either. This is fast enough for my light home use, and the quality is good enough that I’ll be framing larger picture prints requested by family members. Speaking of which, the included software for printing photos is very easy to use if you’re not looking to get into serious editing. I have the printer connected using a usb cable to my htpc. I also picked up the bluetooth module and installed it into the internal side port. Works perfectly with my laptop. I couldn’t be happier. The only possible issue could be warmup time and picture processing time, but those aren’t painfully long. I’ll accept it for the quality I’ve seen so far. Some may not like the higher than average ink cost, but I’m comfortable with that tradeoff since I’m not a heavy user. If you’re looking for a small printer that has good print quality, nice style and is wireless capable, this is one to consider.
Canon PIXMA iP100 Mobile

I eventually gave up on attempting to cope with the suction cup method of attaching my Garmin to the dash. For about the past year when using the GPS I had just stuck it in the cup-holder or held it in my right hand when needed. This was not safe and a permanent solution was needed. Used one of these in a rental car and loved it so ordered this one from Amazon.

It works fantastic. Its heavy bean filled leafs and non slide bottom allows it to be placed on the dash and shifted around as needed. It has never slipped or slid while on the dash. Have used it in different vehicles and it stays secure on all types of dash surfaces. The GPS holder snapped right into the ball socket with no issues. When parking it is easy to take off the dash and stash the unit on the passenger side floorboard.

I would strongly recommend this product to anyone with a Garmin GPS. My only complaint is no glue remover for the stupid suction mounting bracket that is perma-glued to the dash and no longer needed. Any ideas on how to remove it without ruining the dash?
Canon PowerShot SD1400IS 14

I have been a Canon fan for awhile so when I wanted to replace my last Canon camera, I once again only looked at Canon. I am very happy with whole camera . The photos are crisp, love the larger viewing screen, the ipodish selector is also kool as well as the modern look of the camera itself. The only reason I do not give it a 5 star is because I don’t always get a blur free photo … most of the time yes … but I don’t know if that is common on most cameras or not. Overall I a very happy with this purchase and I buy online mostly from Amazon!
Canon PowerShot SD790IS 10MP

I bought one of these for my 11-year old granddaughter. She found it easy to use and takes great pictures with it. It has also survived a number of drops from when her brothers borrowed it. It is fairly small and light, so it is easy to carry around, but it feels good in the hand. The LCD is bright and clear. The kids like to use the movie function to make movies in the back of the car on long trips. This uses up the batteries fairly fast–a new set every day on a trip–but it uses easy-to-get AA batteries, so we can get more when they are needed. It is a great “toy” for the kids, but the picture quality is also very, very good.
Canon PowerShot A560 7
