I bought the Garmin Forerunner 305 as a gift for my wife on Christmas; but it didn’t work. I then went to the site to return it for an exchange. Amazon could only refund as they had no more in stock. I sent them [Amazon] an email describing my problem and requested the same pricing on another one. The response was that they had no stock, but, I could purchase from another vendor listed on their site. I told them that the price had gone up dramatically since my purchase. They told me that they couldn’t control vendor pricing. I communicated my disappointment to them and they agreed that should they receive more inventory, I could purchase at the same price, As this was a gift, the next question was; when would they receive more? They didn’t know, but, I should keep on checking the site daily.
Sooooo, as this was a gift -and couldn’t be delayed indefinitely,I bought it elsewhere and paid significantly more.
Even though this is the first problem I’ve had with Amazon, it couldn’t have come at a worse time; or with a more important purchase.
