Wooster Scott Jane 1000 talk
Very powerful vaccuum that sucks up everything, including the rug if you do not have the vaccuum adjusted high enough from the surface. After adjustments were made, the vaccuum was wonderful.

This is a great pocket pedometer. It’s lightweight, easy to use and sturdy. I sometimes leave it in my messenger bag and it still records my steps, kcals, and distance. Most of the time it’s in my front pocket. Thanks to previous reviews expressing concerns about the small clip (not the big holster one but the one that attaches to the wrist strap) I pay more attention to how I string it around my belt loop!
The memory function is useful for those times when I forget to log my info. But I’m still trying to figure out how to reset the pedometer for specific walking exercises. It will measure info from the time you clip it on to the next day.
Still, I’d recommend this item for fitness walkers, or even those simply curious about their daily walking habits. It’s amazing how much a person walks in one day!

Colfer, E. (2001). Artemis Fowl. New York: Hyperion Paperbacks for Children.
Artemis Fowl is not only to tale of the ingenious and villainous Artemis Fowl, but also the Story of Captain Holly Short, the first female to protect the magical people by joining LEPrechaun force.
Artemis, whose mother is unwell since his father was lost in the Arctic, searches with his friend and protector, Butler, to restore the Fowl fortune. This leads Artemis into trouble with the magical world when he takes Holly hostage. From there Artemis must match wits with LEP’s best agents and one of the magical community’s sneakiest criminals.
The book allows students to question their own cultural norms, as humans are called Mud People and their (our) practices are called into question.
The story includes subtle environmental messages. It also blurs the lines between genres, as it includes both sci-fi and fantasy elements. But most of all, this is a fun series for the young action-adventure lover to become addicted to.
Plus, Artemis is a Mac user, the clever boy.
Activities to do with the book:
This is a book is a great adventure story to help to get students immersed in a story. It lends itself to role-play since students can have fun being a villainous and powerful child genius.
Since some complain that the Artemis Fowl books are hard to visualize, students could create their own illustrations to help with this or create their own adventures for some of the supporting characters.
Favorite Quotes:
“How does one describe Artemis Fowl? Various psychiatrists have tried and failed. The main problem is Artemis’s own intelligence. He babboozles every test thrown at him. He has puzzled the greatest medical minds, and sent many of them gibbering to their own hospitals” (p. 1).
“The Mud People destroyed everything they came into contact with. Of course they didn’t live in the mud anymore. Not in this country, at least. Oh no. Big fancy dwellings with room for everything–rooms for sleep

I love my Kindle. I don’t know if words can adequately convey how much I love my Kindle. I travel often and instead of having to decide which books to take, I can take them all with me! And if I finish something, I can have a new book in less than 60 seconds. The Kindle really, truly does read like a book. I have yet to feel my eyes get ‘tired’ like they do when I am looking at a computer screen. My favorite feature is the ’sample’ feature. I get sample a portion of a book and if I like it, I can purchase it to keep reading. I have noticed that I am reading different genres than I normally do because of this feature.

Information about Mr the White Longfellow
I’ve only had this a couple weeks, but already I can tell that this is a much better scale than the one it’s replacing. It gives the same number if you get off and get back on–something my old scale rarely did. The display is bright and easy to see. The only downside is that it looks so good, with it’s glass and metal, that dirt’s rather noticeable. But, being glass, of course it’s easily wiped clean.
Also, it’s a bit heavy and does not slide across the floor easily–not necessarily bad things, but things to be aware of if you’re planning to store it one place and use it in another.

I bought this 8gb card for my new Sony DSC-TX7 which takes photos and records 1920×1080i hd video in avchd format, and is one of the few Sony cameras not limited to Sony memory stick types. I contemplated buying a Sony card which is more expensive but after researching came to the conclusion this less expensive card would offer good performance. So far it works great. Writing and reading speed for video and photos has been excellent, no issues. As long as it remains reliable it’s a good buy.
