Unknown Revolution The American and me
It must be admitted that the history of the American Revolution that we learn in school leaves a lot of people out. What were women, the poor, slaves, and Native Americans doing during this period of our history. In general, most history books are silent on this topics and focus on the founding fathers instead. This book attempts to fill in the blank spaces in the picture of the American Revolution.
Perhaps the most interesting idea put forth by this book is that the Patriots’ cause was not the call a call for freedom for many people. In the case of slaves, they put faith in the British as a chance for freedom, while the Patriots were advocates of slavery. In the end, the British abandoned many of their slave allies to their fate. Also, from the Native American perspective, an American victory was the first step on the road to destruction and genocide.
I really recommend this book to those who would like to understand the complex web of interests which were in play during the American Revolution.

Ty Webb once said that a flute with only one hole isn’t really a flute, and a donut without a hole is a danish. It was true then and it’s true now, and a remarkably prescient preface to one’s immersion into the pimply, purple world Meyer has created.

Yes.. Series 2 Kryptonite Kryptolok
I needed a lock that was a) long enough to easily lock both wheel and frame (for my hybrid bike which sports a longer-than-average front wheel to frame distance) and b) light, but still strong. This was the only lock I could find that fit this bill, and overall it has been good-but-not-great.
* Comparison to Kryptonite’s other locks: Kryptonite’s next tier up, the “Evolution,” is quite a bit heavier. According to my bikesmith, the only difference they noticed when they’ve had to cut through these locks with an angle grinder is that the Evolution takes slightly longer to get through. The “New York” lock weighs more than my bike, and the “Keeper” is not appropriate for a mid-high cost bike. That made the Kryptolok series an easy call. (BTW, after I bought the lock, I started noticing locks on my campus — Kryptolok is easily the most common brand.)
* Locking mechanism: The other reviews nailed it — the key sucks. It sticks a lot, especially in the cold. But it won’t likely break off (like some users reported) unless you are twisting it like a maniac. Hopefully Kryptonite will make an improvement here. Not sure where else to turn, though.
* Warranty: This is garbage. You have to pay to activate, and the theif has to leave a piece of the broken lock for you to claim. Useless.
* Dimensions. Length is right, but the width is still a little thin for my hybrid tires. I can’t lock my bike to parking meters, which sucks. What I really needed was a 5×11 lock, but I didn’t see any of these on the market… Anyone with a hybrid or MTB that doesn’t need the extra length should definitely stick with Kryptonite’s 5×9 lock.

This is a marvelous, accurate pedometer. You can carry it in a pocket or in a handbag. It is the easiest to use pedometer that I’ve come across. Other models that require being attached to a belt or waist line, come unhooked and get lost. Highly recommended. I just purchased another one as a gift to my sister.

I loved this book. It was moving and a fantastic insight into the lives of maids in the 60s. The struggle within themselves was very enlightening. I suggest you read this book.

Where to get Corporations Democracy Defying Defining
Unfortunately, I bought this book based on the rave reviews I was hearing from friends and associates. I couldn’t make it through the first chapter before I was forced to stop torturing myself. While I am an avid reader and will usually finish anything once I start reading, good or bad, the ’so called’ dialect used in The Help was painful. It was so far off the mark that it became the focal point of my experience and the story was lost. I know there may have been a struggle with Southern ‘black’ dialect but asking for help is not a crime. I am sure someone should have caught these errors before it went to the printing stage so the fault is not entirely the authors but she is surely at fault. Without reading the book I would question how accurate and ‘on-the-mark’ she would be on the maids perspective. After all if she chose not to research the dialect or use of language from southern blacks in the 60s it’s possible she was lazy in other areas as well. Again, I will never know and if anyone wants a slightly ‘used’ copy of The Help let me know before it becomes an altered book of art.

This friction mount is easy to use. It also doesn’t leave any ring on my windows that would alert would-be criminals to a Garmin being in my car. It also makes it easy to store my Garmin under my seat. And it’s legal in states where the window mount is not legal.

And really, it is true. What else can I say? All has been already told in other reviews…
I have the book for many years, and during these years, I read it 8 times already. And you know what is funny? Each time I read it again, I discover a new world of wisdom that is hidden in this book and that I somehow missed before.
I believe that as I am evolving in my spiritual live, the book is also evolving. And I think, this is what makes the book so great.

Today about Writer Tax and s
There is a major rip-off going on in HDMI A/V world and it’s the cables. “Big Box” stores are making more money selling you HDMI cables than they are selling you a Blu-Ray player! In the world of digital transmission the data is either there or it isn’t. How it gets there (cable) does not affect the quality! So come on all you A/V freaks and get with the program. These cables work perfectly and in no way deteriorate my audio or video signal AND they are anywhere from $26 to$46 cheaper than the stuff you’ll find at “Big Box Audio/Video”. So don’t spend “monster” cash for digital cabling. I’ll bet you have something else you could use that money for. (Like a couple of new Blu-Ray discs?)
